I am now considering to register, but come to only one or two of the days.
I hope that I'll decide to register today or tomorrow, and you'll see me
on the registration list. I *loved* your previous conferences, and I really
want to go to another one.

that's such a israeli attitude ;)

"i can't come to all 3 days, so i'll just stay at home".

There were a number of people who asked for one-day pass but I did not have
the time to make the change on yapcom (the web application administrating the
event) to make it easy to handle it and doing it manually just adds to much
extra work.

an option for next year, then.

Besides, offering single day pass now is too late as people who
already paid the price but might want to come only for one day will be
penalized. Returning the money would add just more administrative work.

no doubt. it's also not a very good idea to make retroactive changes, with
all the justice-looking isralies breathing down your neck ;)

What I thought now is to bite the bullet and starting from the 23rd
offer a reduced fee for those who don't want to come for all 3 days.
This reduced fee would be actually the same as the early-bird full
price so 450 and 190 NIS for companies and individuals respectively.
This way the we don't penalize the early payers and those who pay
late will have the choice of full prices (650/290) for 3 days or about
2/3 of the price (450/190) for any 2 days. What do you people say?

i say - go for it, if it's doable in the management area. it's the best
you can do this year, i imagine - and people (i hope) will appreciate the
effort. surely some people will find a hole in the plan and start whining
or gloating - just ignore them ;)

my original comment was reffered to nadav, not to you - about thinking
like a cheap israeli
Can we do with a little less Israeli bashing? And so many times onthe same thread, too?

"oh, i payed for a 3 days conference, so if i only
come to 2 days, i get screwed" - and i don't think nadav is a cheap
israeli, nor is he a broke student or someone having hard time "finishing
the month" - he merely got caught in a israeli concept due to bad israeli
education - i know how hard it is to take this out of your system, because
i had the same israeli education too when i was young ("ma, ani fraier?
shilamti avur haglida, az afilu im hi mag'la ani ochal ota ad hasof, rak
kedei lo lizrok kesef lapach") ;)
So you're one of the few who rose above the rest of us. Good to know where I can turn to if I want to better myself.
