Hi, I am renting a server from Actcom and have just received a call from Bezeq Benleumi telling me that they won't have this service any more so I need to buy a new server. Apparently my server - that I never saw - is a tower and Bezeq Benleumi cannot host that.
They gave me two options: 1) buy a server myself and then host in their server farm 2) buy a server from them and then host in their server farm They are supposed to send me information on levels of support options. The dead-line is end of June. After that they will turn off the electricity. I added my option 3) Go to another provider My personal point is that they force me to move all my data to a new server so if I already have to move, I can easily go anywhere. Let's see the positive side: As I have to reinstall everything I can now make sure the server is clean as new :-) I guess it will take me a few days of work at least to move everything. Whatever. I asked them about the server of HaMakor and Iglu but as I did not know the customer id of either server the guy could not tell me what's the status. In general he said there is no such thing as FREE any more. So I don't know who takes care of the HaMakor server and iglu (and if there are other freely hosted machines) but please make sure the server is kept alive in some way.
