Yeah, unfortunately you'd have to modify TableTag to call your new class. There's no facility for wiring in your own at the moment. Perhaps this should be a feature.

Indeed in TableTag , HtmlTableWriter is hard coded. The only ugly
thing that I success to do is putting in my project a class :
org.displaytag.render.HtmlTableWriter
I'm not proud of that, lol, put this was helpful to test my new class.
