Dennis, Well, no problem in asking for a 'new' OpenSolaris community-based distro as distros come and go.
Yet, you didn't ask this question: 1. Can the CURRENT OpenSolaris-based distros be updated to a recently released kernel? A few things happened recently in which ON snv_134b disappeared from the ON downloads directory. We also have the new ON 'current' releases within Mercurial and deprecation of the ON source tarballs. So I'd hope the encouragement is to have one of the distributors update their distro or release a 'test' distro based on the newer ON kernel if only to test and review the kernel snapshot and core environment. If this task CANNOT be done by any of the current OpenSolaris-based distro providers, then I think we should adorn those steel-toed boots and wave the big red flags. In laymen terms: Have we been compromised and the booty looted?!? ~ Ken M. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ distribution-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/distribution-discuss
