Is there out-of-the-box support for encryption in EON? If not, what does prevent it from being currently offered (software/hardware limits)? In particular, would encryption kill performance on something like Intel SS4200-EHW? (I guess it shouldn't, but then the documentation of zfs-crypto/lofi looks bleak...)
I'd consider the lack of encryption as a show-stopper in business context, the presence of it a great argument for SME clients to switch from distributed (normally unprotected and unmanaged) local storage to OS-based NAS. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ distribution-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/distribution-discuss
