To whome it may concern.
I am based in South Africa and have been using Open
Office.org for about a year (GREAT JOB!).
A friend of mine, who is a graphic designer,
is keen to distribute Open Office 2.0 to home users and to small start-up
companies who can't afford Microsoft licence fees. The intention at this
point is to offer the package and an installation service for which a
small fee will be charged.
The plan is not to make this a huge
business with large overheads and unrealistic prices, but rather to
stay within the spirit of open source and to utilise existing opportunities to
generate additional personal income, at the same time offering your product to
people who are unaware that an alternative to Microsoft Office
exists.
Please advise me as to how one would go about
registering as a distributor (if necessary) and as to any restrictions that may
exist. Please also confirm weather your logo can be printed onto the
CD's.
Yours sincerely
