Hmm, the line "PYVERS=$(shell pyversions -vr)" looks like the only place where Python 2.3 could get found. So, what does the output of "pyversions -vr" give you? Other that, I can't see anything else. Can you also post the output of "apt-cache show python-central" and "apt-cache show debhelper"?
