I'm a bit confused at the situation myself, am working on a simple repro
case.  I can get it to fail, but not to throw BadStatusLine from within
urllib just yet.  I wouldn't dare ask you to untangle our production
buildout, so I'll continue trying to come up with a better case and
question.

Whatever the cause, it seems that setuptools, or buildout, someone is not
doing their job of catching exceptions from urllib.  The exception seems to
raise from within setuptools, but I've only seen this set of circumstances
arise with buildout, so perhaps there's simply an integration issue on one
side or the other.

This is annoying enough without adding the fact that this happens against
develop eggs which urrllib shouldn't be invoked for, but that's related to
the previous thread, which I'll respond to in context. :)
