Hi Hussein, thanks for a rapid answer.
I probably didn't express the problem correctly..;) I want all topicrefs appear in the toc, but not the nested topic titles in topic files. I cannot figure out from ditac.lists ditac:tocEntry's, which entry belongs to map and which are from nested topics BR, Martti -----Alkuperäinen viesti----- Lähettäjä: Hussein Shafie [mailto:[email protected]] Lähetetty: 24. syyskuuta 2014 18:06 Vastaanottaja: Martti Poutanen Kopio: [email protected] Aihe: Re: [ditac] limiting the depth of PDF toc On 09/24/2014 03:38 PM, Martti Poutanen wrote: > > Ive got a very deep topicref structure in a ditamap and topics also > contain nested topics. In principle, I'm not allowed to answer it (http://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/support_policy.html). I see 2 ways to achieve what you want: 1)a) If you want to limit the number of TOC entries whatever the output format (i.e. PDF or HTML), then, in your map, add attribute toc="no" to all the topicrefs (of any kind: topicref, topichead, part, chapter, appendix, etc) you want exclude from the TOC. See attribute "toc" in http://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/_dita_spec/topicref-atts.html#topicref-atts 1)b) If you want to limit the number of TOC entries but only when generating PDF and not when generating say HTML, then you'll have to use 2 different maps, one for PDF (having toc="no") and one for HTML (not having toc="no"). 2) If you can program XSLT, customize the XSLT stylesheets (<DITAC_install_dir>/xsl/fo/ditac_toc.xsl) that generate XSL-FO the intermediate format used to ouput PDF. -- XMLmind DITA Converter Support List [email protected] http://www.xmlmind.com/mailman/listinfo/ditac-support
