I noticed that the "Why choose Ditac?" page says this: "The DITA Open Toolkit <http://sourceforge.net/projects/dita-ot/> is the reference implementation of DITA, approved by the persons who design the DITA standard."
This is not actually true, in that the DITA OT is not a reference implementation. The DITA OT team tries to make the implementation as complete and correct as possible and Robert Anderson, the DITA OT project manager is a member of the DITA Technical Committee, but there is no formal relationship between the DITA OT project and the DITA TC. There is no formal approval of the OT as being complete or correct. While those of us who use and contribute to it try to make it as correct as we can there's no guarantee that it is in fact correct. There is no official "reference implementation" of DITA. OASIS does not, as a rule, sponsor or fund such development so there's no actual venue or formal mechanism for creating and maintaining a reference implementation of the DITA specification.
