We've moved into a new house (at least us) and have wired all rooms for audio, video and Ethernet as we have refurbed each room to our liking. In many this included ceiling speakers for ambient sound - by no means meant to be audiophile quality but just background music.
Each room with speakers is an "audio zone" and SoftSqueeze is used for each zone connecting to its own amplifier so volume can be controlled room by room. The back end of course is LMS running on its own computer, everything is controlled by tablets, phone or other computers in the house. Currently I have a hodgepodge of gear in the basement along with a bunch of wires, some terminated, some just dangling waiting to be terminated. I want to put up a structured wiring panel and have all network switches, routers, and other hardware necessary to run the A/V in the house. I want to use smaller amplifiers to run the speakers instead of the big box non matching gear currently in use. I was thinking of using automotive type amps, I've seen some reference to this type used here but cannot remember which ones were used. Looking for suggestions for good solid amp in the 20-50 W range. Assuming they are DC powered what power supply to use also. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jimbrandon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57645 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97478 _______________________________________________ diy mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/diy
