Benno,

thanks for this great writeup!

I am working on a portable squeezebox solution that works on a sub $50
A10 based Android computer on which I have installed a Linaro
distribution and a recent kernel.

The box I am using is the Miniand MiniX, which has very decent
capabilities
linaro@linaro-alip:~$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor : ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v7l)
BogoMIPS : 1001.88
Features : swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp neon vfpv3
CPU implementer : 0x41
CPU architecture: 7
CPU variant : 0x3
CPU part : 0xc08
CPU revision : 2

Hardware : sun4i

I have dumped a few changes I made on the box here
http://minixsqueeze.blogspot.ca/

I used your script mainly because I wanted to keep the analog output
distinct from a USB sound device when controlling the server and keep
them as "zones".

So far, I tested 2 simultaneous devices using the internal analog output
(which has a very low signal/noise ratio and a lot of hiss) and a good
old SB Live! 24-bit External, and the little computer doesn't break a
sweat on the task.

I have a few cheap USB CMedia adapter on order and will expand the
number of outputs just to see how far I can push it.

thanks again for sharing!
