Hi Pascal,

I did try the digital and analog VU meters and for my taste they do look
rather nice (especially the digital version). If you enable JiveLite in
the latest version of piCorePlayer they are enabled by default. The
analog VU uses a lower resolution, scaled up image, but from a distance
this is not really noticeable. They do both have issues with high-res
audio files where their behaviour is not really realistic, but this
could also be caused by the squeezelite visualization option.

Ralphy's Joggler skin is, in my opinion, much better than the original
Joggler skin where only the default view was usable (the other views
just displayed some garbled image) and you had a rather ugly looking
transport bar at the bottom. The original Joggler skin also has problems
with scrolling text if the character extended below the baseline of a
font (e.g. "(", "[", "p"). This produced left-over pixels on the
display.

You can test the new Joggler skin by downloading
_Ralphy's_latest_Squeezeplay
(\"https://www.mediafire.com/folder/4q8dvq20iyz9e/Builds\";)_.
Or you could use a combination of squeezelite and Ralphy's JiveLite for
Mac or Linux.

Those alternative VU skins look rather nice and I did try a few of them
using Erland's custom clock plugin on my Touch. I don't know how
difficult it would be to incorporate them in Ralphy's new Joggler skin.
On piCorePlayer there seems to be no way of installing them using the
JiveLite interface. I was able to install the custom clock plugin in
SqueezePlay for Windows. But, using the Joggler skin, I could not select
any of the VU meter styles. These only appeared after switching back to
the WQVGA skin.

Regards,

Arie
