I've used Squeeze Player on a Nexus7 Android table with good results.

I've also used SqueezePlay on an old Windows XP netbook. That has the
advantage of an Ethernet connection, keyboard & display. May be better
for party playlist situations.

I also have a Raspberry Pi with HiFi Berry DAC. I really would like to
use this combination, but the case presents a problem. The plastic case
is iffy...too fragile. I'd like a nice machined metal case, but have yet
to find one. I did find someone who would make them, but it requires an
order of 50 pieces.

If I were to go that route I'd like to add a power-over-Ethernet
expansion to the RPi so that the local PSU can be eliminated.

The problem with RPi-based stuff is that accessories, like the case, get
expensive very quickly.
