I know that the release of a .95 version of Django is a touchy subject around here, but I really would like to see a .95 release, even if you have to call it a beta to signify not all issues are resolved. As a programmer, I know that I could just go to the subversion trunk and checkout the code. This, however, is not satisfactory to my project manager. He seems to feel we can only work on a stable release (.91). Unfortunately, he wants us to upgrade to .95 as soon as it comes out. Here lies the dilemma: if it takes another month or two to see a .95 release, that is another month of code I will have to turn around and port from .91 to .95.
I know Jeff Croft is in favor of this (http://www2.jeffcroft.com/2006/jul/20/top-ten-things-suck-about-django/) but James Bennett seems to feel,"hard to do until model inheritance is straightened out. I don't think there are any other showstoppers, though." James, I promise I won't use any inheritance until you guys figure it out :) How would the community around here feel about a beta/pre-release .95 version? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django developers" group.
