That's my long-term goal, but generic-auth isn't enough to get there. is_staff, is_superuser, is_active, get_and_create_messages, and probably other things need to be changed for that to happen. generic_auth just takes care of user.has_perm. That said, I don't see all of this happening for at least a couple of months. Getting the per-object-permissions and generic-auth branch merged together, then merged to the trunk will come first, and I expect that will take at least a month.
