I do not know, and I cannot speak for anybody else, but it would only
seem logical to me to migrate generic views to newforms after they are
made stable (especially form_for_model), the migration itself is
fairly easy


And should it be django.views.generic.create_update and
django.views.generic.oldcreate_update?

If the generic views are migrated, they could remain backwards
compatible since none of the parameters (except follow which is barely
documented anyway) doesn't have anything to do with the forms
implementation...
