The group is not moderated, but Google Groups runs a spam filter on every incoming message. This spam filter comes up with many, many false positives. If a message is determined to be spam, it gets put in a queue, and I have to manually OK it. Sometimes it takes me a few hours to get around to doing this; unfortunately, I cannot check my Gmail account 24 hours a day. If you post a message and it doesn't show up immediately, DO NOT post it again. If you post it again, your message will appear twice in the queue, and I will probably post it twice because I won't notice it's a duplicate, which means you'll end up looking silly to thousands of people on the mailing list. I wish there were a way for Google Groups moderators to allow other trusted users to OK the spam messages, because clearly this is a bottleneck. If there is, please let me know.
