While closing out a duplicate ticket tonight, I noticed that the
original was only a month old,
and did a bit of subtraction. The frightening result: we've had about
three hundred new tickets filed since that time. Meanwhile, there are
currently over three hundred and twenty tickets sitting stuck at
"design decision needed".

Our triagers are doing an unbelievable job, but it feels like we're
once again being outpaced by the flood of tickets; is it time to put
out a call for more people to review and triage? Time to come up with
a better way to get through the "design decision needed" phase or
replace it with something that doesn't leave hundreds of tickets in
limbo for months? Time for something completely different?
