Sure blame me. :) I had not seen that ticket when I wrote the post, but I think it's a very good solution. Although I appreciate all the thought that Vinay Sajip put into it, I think the solution he proposes is over-engineered for this situation. The ticket addresses the problem well and causes the least amount of impact.
