Sorry, but I also think that this is the place to discuss about a new
db backend.

IMHO everybody thought about a backend for the datastore/bigtable, but
what about supporting Google App Engine models in django? Will it be
very complicated? I don't know if anybody at Google contacted anybody
at Django before "copying" our models with a different syntax, but it
would be great to unify both models, or allow compatibility for
Google's ones (if the backend solution or another isn't better).

I think that Google should be so interested in Django's admin (and
other stuff), as Django users are interested in being able to use
Google's infrastructure for our applications.
