This is more of a question for django-users, but... I would advise that this patch is "use at your own risk". It hasn't been integrated into the trunk since the release of v1.0.2, and it hasn't been reviewed by a core developer (or even a triager). It may work exactly as advertised, but that will be for you to establish. It will also be up to you to manage the intergration of the patch with any modifications to the Django core. However, if you choose to use this patch, and it does work as advertised it would be helpful to know - evidence that a patch is being used in the wild can be helpful in determining the bugs (and fixes) that get priority during development.
