Correct. Don't get too hung up on getting the text exactly 100% right. Obviously, try your best, but it's not at all unusual for the documentation in a "ready to commit" patch to be polished a little bit more before it is actually committed. The most important thing is that you survey the docs to find all the places and references that need to be updated, work out examples where required, and so on - that is, get all the pieces in place so that the final committer can easily polish them into the final form.
