Hello,

You are hereby invited to join the upcoming Django Sprints which take
place next Thursday and Friday, June 9th and 10th. Together we will
make a collaborative effort to improve Django. This will be an
excellent opportunity to add code, to add documentation and to fix
bugs.

As a part of DjangoCon EU, over a hundred people are expected to
participate at a central location (De Waag) in Amsterdam, The
Netherlands. In addition, people from Sao Paolo, Brazil will join our
effort. And you are invited to participate from your remote location.

Core developers will be available on freenode IRC: #django-sprint in
order to review tickets and to assist you in the process.

When?

Sprinting will start on Thursday 9th at 9:00 GMT and last till Friday
night June 10th. At our Dutch location, we have field beds ready to
make sure that sprinting will go on all night. :)

What to do?

If you want to participate,

1. You can work on any particular ticket you have in mind;

2. You can review existing tickets. This would really help Django
forward. Jacob wrote a nice mail explaining how to do this:
http://groups.google.com/group/django-developers/browse_thread/thread/abc6cf0450812d82/1dc28ad0bb2b4942?lnk=gst&q=jacob+offer#1dc28ad0bb2b4942

3. You can address one of the issues which have been proposed for the
Google Summer of Code, but have not been accepted, see:
https://code.djangoproject.com/wiki/SummerOfCode2011

Most of these issues will require putting the heads together and
communicating a lot.

4. Any further ideas are welcome, and can be discussed on IRC or the
Django developers mailinglist.

How to do it?

The basic steps how to prepare for a sprint, are here:

Questions?

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks for participating!

Wim
