This was not my intention at all. The discussion on the ticket at https://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/10938 suggested opening a discussion to prove a case for this. I was merely pointing out why I thought it might be useful, since I ran into a case where this would've been convenient. I have no problem customizing my own change_form to make Django do what I want, I only thought I would contribute my vote for this addition.
