Please elaborate on "it won't work." There's not much anyone can do but guess otherwise. Error messages and tracebacks are preferred.
Considering it works in a Web browser, it doesn't sound like Django has a problem at all.
My only random guess is some kind of CSRF issue, but I don't have any detail to support it.
