There's two separate issues here: * Having it hosted somewhere under the control/management of the core Django project * Having a link to Django People from the main Django site. There's no reason the two problems need to be combined. In fact, I'd prefer they weren't. One of my personal goals with the Django Project website redesign is to enable us to broaden our base, and find parts of the project that we can pass off to interested groups in the community. Keeping a clear distinction between the two codebases is one way to make this easier; the "integration" between the two then becomes a matter of making sure the main djangoproject.com website has appropriate ways to link out to these other projects, maintained by other groups. That doesn't mean the core project can't be involved in deployment -- and as Jacob has pointed out, the DSF has resources to help out here. If there's an important community resource floating around, the people maintaining that resource shouldn't be out of pocket.
