FWIW, it seems that NickServ is also nonfunctional/unresponsive due to
the DDOS, which means that even if you can connect (and I have been able
to connect via IRC client), you won't be able to get into #django,
#django-dev, #django-core, #python, or any other channel that requires
registration.
