Not only did that happen already 4dc4d12e27e4e0337568651136eee5b6f2171204, but 
I’m about to remove the replacement introduced in that commit in 
151a01a581bc17afe4f6b2278b567730da01dcf9.

I’m proposing to use @override_settings(TEMPLATE_LOADERS=[…]) instead which 
looks much more explicit and straightforward to me.
