I just want to share my 2 cents... Oracle is highly used in government and big Corporations in my country and banks and many critical places.
So while the number of django user of oracle might be low, the prospect of introducing python and django to a legacy project is invaluable. I personally know this from work experience. But on the other hand, we should also consider future maintenance experts for oracle backend. I believe with some guidelines and help From current oracle backend maintainers would help to pass the knowledge to new prospective future contributors. Best regards to all of you.
