Yes, one very useful piece of data would be what version of Django you are
using.
The fix is available in the soon to be released 1.5. According to our work
flow we mark a ticket fixed on this tracker when it has been fixed in the
in-development version and not all of these fixes get applied to the
already-released version (currently 1.4.x).
Unfortunately if you are using 1.4.x (latest stable release) you won't get
this fix and will have to look for workaround/fixes provided by your OS.
Another option would be to start your exploration of Django by installing
the first release candidate of 1.5.
