Comment:
The try-except block was added because of the bug fixed in [6185]. Should
it be removed or is it good to have a safety net like this? In case of a
defect .po file it would automatically set name_local to the language name
in the active language instead of the language itself.
I'm un-claiming this bug for now and moving on.
