I tried implementing using URLconf without success, kept the URL conf and
added MIDDLEWARE setting - no change to url path and Flat page rendered
.... it seems that either MIDDLWARE setting is required or urlpattern
setup instructuons aren't correct / complete.
Add an entry in your URLconf. For example:

urlpatterns = [
path("pages/", include("django.contrib.flatpages.urls")),
]
}}}
or:
Add `'django.contrib.flatpages.middleware.FlatpageFallbackMiddleware'` to
your `MIDDLEWARE` setting.

Since these instructions haven't changed for 10+ years, I'm guessing you
made a mistake. If you debug the issue and find the instructions are at
fault, feel free to reopen with an explanation.
