 The problem with just applying the existing patch is it essentially hides
 a problem we don't yet understand the root cause of.  I haven't been able
 to recreate the problem -- if you are seeing this regularly could you
 provide any feedback on your configuration including web server,
 middleware, caching setup, etc. that might help us figure out what is at
 the root of the problem?  In the meantime the patch in the ticket can also
 be used by anyone experiencing the problem as a stopgap to avoid the
 error.  But we'd like to better understand what is going on here before
 just patching over the error in the code base.
