Aptana (aka Eclipse/Pydev) for no reason other than hyperlinks in the code Vim/Notepad++ on occasion virtualenv, git, pip, ack (grep on steroids) nginx (proudly compiled from source with custom modules!)
ubuntu 10.04 (will only upgrade to LTS releases) or windows xp. All of these tools are multiplatform!
