It's "period" not "dot". And Sphinx is trivially installable. Download  
the tarball, untar, launch "setup.py install", you're done.

You just need to fullfill the build-time dependencies (docutils, Jinja  
and Pygments I think).

Furthermore calling Sphinx "unpythonic" when it's Python's official  
documentation build system (for 2.6 onwards) is fairly... bizarre, to  
say the least.

I suggest that's not going to happen. You might also want to be less  
flippant in the future. If you absolutely definitely need an offline  
version of Django's documentation and refuse to compile it yourself,  
use wget and create a local mirror from the official site. Not exactly  
hard.
