Yeah... Bush is Joseph Macarthy all over again. Playing peoples fears to obtain greater political power. "The more things change the more they stay the same."

I like Michael Moore, I receintly saw him do an interview on PBS, mostly about what's going on in Iraq right now. What's refreshing was that after he made all his points, he went back and sort of played devil's advocate for the other side. He's basically about telling it like it is and letting people decide for themselves what to agree with, unlike most other politcal commentators who simply argue their cause.

Of course, challenging the CEO of Nike to a foot race around the Corporate headquarters is pretty cool too.

Saw that movie, and I agree, that movie was definately an eye opener. Anyone who has not yet seen this movie, go and see it. My boyfriend and I went to see it a few weeks ago, and we are still talking about it. I was not even into politics a year ago, but with all the talk about war and the media and our government, I'm trying to find out as much as possible.....I was wondering...has any one heard of the Patriot Act which Bush signed on October 26th, 2001? If not...well then here goes : Gives the President and executive branch unchecked surveillance powers - the monitering of financial transactions, e-mail and telephone communications, internet usage, the obtaining of sensitive third party records, and the conduction of "sneek-and-peek" searches. (Sneek-and-Peek searches are covert search and seizures of a persons home, office, or property without notifying them that a warrant has been obtained until after the search, up to 7 days later longer in "some circumstances." Plus much more....
And all this happened after September 11th. Do you guys realize how many people are unaware of this? Our own president signed this right under our noses without many people knowing this because everyone in the U.S. was totally distraught and preoccupied with what had just recently happened. Nice.....Do we have a reason now to be frightened???? I'm more scared of what our Government is doing to us than what fucking Osama-Bin-Asshole wants to do to us......Any feedback??? This list is too dry with all the one lining bullshit people are posting.....If I come across as a bitch, I don't mean to, I just want to know where you guys stand with all that is going on around us.....
