was reading the newspaper this morning when i came across an article that
made me think.

on one hand, we have the government trying to resurrect the rave act (under
a different moniker), but desperately trying to quash parties because they
think they're closely tied to drugs (and, in some cases, i think they have
plenty good reason). "drugs are bad," they preach to us.

and on the other side, we have some air force pilots who are being court
marshalled because they accidentally bombed some canucks while high on
GOVERNMENT-ISSUED speed pills.

does anyone else spot the irony here ?

i mean, sure, they tell us that drugs are bad, and that raves push them
onto the kids out there. but at the same time, they push methamphetamines
onto our pilots.

this double standard is truly mind-boggling.

and the fact that an article about two drug overdoses at PNY makes the
front page, while the air force incident makes a quiet backpage story isn't
something to be ignored as well.

i'd like to hear exactly what this so-called drug policy our nation has for
us. it seems rather contradictory.
