Heh... I totally agree.  The nation's "policy" on drugs is whatever is
most convenient to politicians at the time...  One of my professors in a
history class said that the 1980s "War on Drugs" happened only because
Ronald Reagan realized that in order to be a successful politician, one
must have a moral "enemy" to fight against.  After the Soviet Union fell
apart, drugs became the great 'evil' that the USA had to stand up
against... ... ...

Not only that... but parents/doctors are pushing methamphetamines onto
kids in the form of Ritalin.  Didn't any of these parents stop and think
about how weird it was that all of a sudden, an entire generation of
kids "needs" a drug to combat A.D.D., while the previous generation of
kids got along fine without it?
