I agree in the complexity of the UI, maybe it should be more simple as
default, and then have a dropdown menu that include all the "ticket
lifetime stuff"
Regarding the droplet, I think it is a good idea, I don't know if any
peace of code, but I will try to look for it ;)

I think the UI should be simpler, though.
Generating a grant or an upload is just 2 clicks away (if you set
defaults), but the look is busy in my opinion.
If I had enough time, I would program a small executable that connects
to a DL server and generates the ticket for you. Either like a shell
extension (right-click, "send-to...", "generate link", and the link is
copied on the clipboard), or on OSX like a droplet on the dock (drop a
file on the dock, same behavior).
Maybe you are aware of some open-source application that works
somewhat
like this, that we can modify...
