once a month, I send all my employees a reminder about corporate compliance rules. The sending domain is unique, with correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC. When the RUA arrives, it'll show how many people are forwarding their mail to Gmail and whatnot. Games can be played with the domain, selector, or time of day to statistically isolate the guilty party.

Any idea why your employees find Gmail and Yahoo mail so much better
than your internal MUA that they use them even though they know it's
against the rules?

This isn't something I've ever seen here. In past jobs, a user would forward everything because they wanted to have all of their Email in one place, or they wanted to be able to read their work mail without having to first VPN into the office. I recall one individual who swore he didn't trust the IT department not to "lose" his Email. Another (I suspect) wanted a copy of all his mail offsite in case he got fired. I never heard anyone say it was because they liked the Gmail or Yahoo Mail mail client better than Outlook.

The corporate forwards I'm seeing in my RUAs are all personal correspondents who use their work Emails for their kids activities and that sort of thing. I also noticed two ESPs that forward their abuse@ emails to Yahoo or Gmail accounts. I thought that was weird, actually.
