I haven't run a list in ages. I only based my comment on previous discussions on this list and the dmarc-ietf list discussing how list implementers could/would handle this if they chose to. I know that you have consistently said that list operators shouldn't have to do anything different (other than unsubbing or rejecting accounts from domains which do publish DMARC p=reject) to accommodate DMARC implementers.
I agree with you that the onus is on the sending domain which publishes a p=reject policy rather than on the list or the receiver/validator. Some mailbox providers choose to address the issue by whitelisting maillists. Some list owners may choose to send list mail as the list domain and track replies to the list, etc. I'm sure there are other folks on the list who would be much more cognizant of list implementations which do not have problems with user domain p=reject policies, etc. Mike > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:dmarc-discuss- > [email protected]] On Behalf Of John R Levine > Sent: Friday, January 24, 2014 12:50 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [dmarc-discuss] missing part of the DMARC FAQ, was is it safe to > reject? > > > I agree that something like this should be added but would suggest > > that it needs to be a little more nuanced seeing as there are lists > > which are DMARC aware and send mail in such a way as to not cause > rejects. > > Do you have some examples?
