Although it's hard to tell what the numbers really mean.  If I send a mail to 
a list such as [email protected] then that mail shows up in the 
Gmail feedback report as one failed message per Gmail using subscriber of the 
list.  So the number of messages reported as failed is much larger than the 
actual number of messages you sent for a large mailing list.
