I got what you are saying.

In this particular case, I am afraid we can even take that kind of
undertaking to create a complete "Stunt Double" as you put it.  I also
believe this is not under the purview of IETF and inevitably we intervene
with their control plane procedures to create this kind of framework.

I still believe we ought to develop value addition functionalities in
the transport network layer, applicable to these deployments which brings a
better E2E service. At the end of the day neither a packet traversing the
network doesn't know which SDO owns this nor the end user consuming the
service.

This is a generic comment and I am not implying to any particular work
being done here.
