I'm using a Supernova 2. I downloaded the new OS from their website but
haven't loaded it up yet cuz' i'm having a problem w/ my interface, and
SYSEX dumps. You shouldn't have a problem upgrading. I would go w/ the
Supernova 2. In comparison to the Virus, for an extra $300 (about 150 pds.)

you get 4 more audio outputs, and a whole effects arsenal capable of playing

56 effects @ once!!! That's 6 effects for every part.

Subject: [dnb-prod] Novation Supernovas

Hello,

Just a quick question to get some pre sale advice...
I've been thinking about getting a second hand Novation Nova or a Supernova
(or Supernova 2 if i can find one under 550, ha).
I need to know if all the Novation synths can be upgraded using MIDI files
from their website to the latest OS and Sounds as and when they arrive. If
so then all I have to do is buy an original Supernova for 500 and get the
latest OS whenever i want the update - seems a bit easy to me, surely theres
a catch and the models from 1998 won't upgrade so easily as say the ones
from last year. Have the physical designs changed much?

Any solid advice?

Cheers

Dan
