sometimes eqing the bassline's lower mids out a little bit can get rid of unnecessary muddiness and energy that doesnt need to be there ....i'm talkin like 200-300 hz or somethin. just listen to certain parts of the mix....try to pick out what frequencies seem like they should be gone and boost that frequency w/ your eq a lot, just so its easier to hear .....sweep it around to find the exact frequency you think is ugly and then take it out. just use the ears!

Just some tips you might already know....
Merry Xmas
Rob
