OK, I finally got Logic 4.8 up and running, but I can't seem to make it do
all the things i had hoped it would- replace my hardware mixer/FX setup. But
it seems like it should be able to do it, just can't get my head around it.
Here's my current setup-
Mac G4 400
M-Audio Delta 1010
Logic Platinum 4.8
OK, so here's the dilemma-
How can you monitor and mix (preferably w/plug-ins etc) all 8 input tracks at
once WITHOUT arming record on all the tracks? The way it's working currently
you can't hear the inputs at all until the little "R" is enabled, and that is
a big pain when you actually have to record something else, i.e. midi data.
Also, I can't put any EQ or plug-ins on the incoming audio until it's
recorded... is there a way around this?
Another question- Can Logic read RTAS plug-ins? I have them in the Logic
folder but they don't come up as choices... do they have to be in a
particularly named folder? I was under the impression that you could use
these with Logic Platinum. It would be killa to use those Bomb Factory
compressors...
I know this stuff is old hat to alot of you guys, but the software end of
things is a whole new world for me.
Any help would be appreciated... thanks alot.
Merry christmas!
