I use a pc so some of this stuff may not apply but, make sure you enable
direct monitoring with ASIO if you have it. You should be able to hear your
effects on lines coming into your box. After arming the audio tracks you
want to record, try shift clicking the midi track you want to record along
with it. This will arm the midi track along with everything else so you can
record midi data at the same time. As for the plugs I'm not sure, I'm a PC
user so everything that's directx gets picked up by logic. I hope this helps
