Hey all...

The past couple of weeks have been completely mental for me and apart from
100 random things completely changing my life I've been lucky enough to be
offered some free studio time in a Soho studio... Coincidentially, I met a
chick on Saturday night who's apparently a really good singer, so.... I'm
gonna try and hook up a session in the near future and record some vocals...

The thing is that I probably won't have the music for the tracks done in
time! We'll have lyrics and a rough BPM but that's about it... As I've never
done anything like this before I'm just wondering how this is normally
done.. Is it usual for session singers to just sing to a metronome or basic
beat? Obviously it's not a problem for me to take the vocals and fit them
into a track afterwards but if it's gonna be a major pain in the arse for
her or the studio bods then I'll have to rethink...

(I appreciate that this is probably down to her abilities as much as
anything else, but I just wondered if anyone had any comments..)

cheers,

Nick
