I only have good experience with AMD's. I'm running a 1Gig Athlon and an Athlon 850 (both on ABIT KT7A motherboards), and haven't had any problems from these on the audio front (I'm running Cubase, Wavelab, Reason etc). For reference I'm running a Guillemot ISIS and a D-Audio DIO card (I think it's a 2440 or something, but don't have the details to hand).

I myself decided i was going to buy an AMD system (mainly due to the cost) and then found out all this stuff about the problems with VIA chipsets on the socket A motherboards.... My problem now is that on nearly all socket A mobos, either the north or south chipset bridge is made by VIA, and although i'm sure there are loads of people using VIA that have NO problems, there is a lot of evidence to say STAY AWAY!!!! Does anyone know anywhere (reliable) (apart from Red Submarine) that can custom build me an amd system without a VIA chipset? Also, if anyone is e-mailing info about their amd system experience can they please tell me what soundcard they are running.... Peace out!
